Liverpool are very keen on signing a “dominant” £57m ace in the summer, according to a new report.
Liverpool transfer news
Arne Slot’s side still have a lot to play for this season, as the Premier League title race begins to heat up and the Champions League knockout rounds get underway. However, as it always does at this time of the year, attention soon starts to turn toward plans for the summer, and Liverpool will be no different.

It would be a massive statement of intent from Slot’s side.
One player Liverpool are interested in is Dani Vivian from Athletic Club, who continues to impress for club and country. However, Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit of the defender, as Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are also keen on the 25-year-old.
Vivian has a release clause in his contract worth £33m, which could be ideal for Slot and co. as one of their current players is linked with a move away from Anfield.
According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool this summer. PSG are keen to strengthen their defence at the end of the season and have identified the Frenchman as a target.
The Paris-born centre-back is in the final 18 months of his contract, and with no agreement over a new deal remotely close, a move could be allowed before his contract expires.
Liverpool very keen on signing £57m ace
It may not just be Vivian who is on the Premier League side’s radar this summer, as according to Football Insider, Liverpool are “very keen” on signing Micky van de Ven from Tottenham Hotspur.
It is reported that Liverpool want to sign a new centre-back in the summer, even if Virgil van Dijk signs a new contract. Van de Ven has emerged on the Premier League leaders’ radar, as he is thought to be highly rated by Slot, who has come across the player plenty of times while in the Netherlands.
The Dutchman is viewed as an “elite Champions League level” player by Liverpool, and he would be capable of playing alongside Van Dijk or Konate.
The report does go on to add that while Liverpool are interested in Van de Ven, they are also interested in Marc Guehi, and they could still make a move for the Crystal Palace defender, as he is seen as an alternative long-term replacement for Van Dijk.
Van de Ven, who has been labelled a “dominant” defender by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has been in the Premier League since August 2023 and has played 36 games in the league, where he has looked comfortable on the ball, as well as quick and decisive in his defensive duties.
The 23-year-old has had his injury problems in recent months, but he may be seen as a perfect addition for Van Dijk, who will know him well from international duty, and the pair could help each other’s games, making Liverpool even more solid at the back.
But he may not come cheap, as he is said to be valued at £57m, which isn’t a surprise given Spurs paid £43m to sign him.
